New Abortion Law Causes Huge Stink in the Lone Star State

On Wednesday, there were a number of new laws that went into effect across the state of, Texas. The biggest change is the new abrtion law known as the "Heartbeat Act" which limits abortion procedures as early as six weeks. This law has been reported as the most restrictive put in place out of all states.

SB-8 basically says that an abortion procedures can not be performed once there is a heartbeat detected. This may accour as early as six weeks in a pregnancy. A lot of women claim this happens before they even know they are pregnant and takes away any chance of making a self choice decision.

There are very few acceptions to this new law. Victims of violent crimes are no longer protected by other abortion laws that are in place in other states. This is definitely not right but try telling that to a bunch of old men that run this state that are set in their old ways.

Some say the law violates the Roe Vs. Wade decsion but the Supreme Court sided with the Republican law makers that have control of the Lone Star State. In a late vote there was a 5-4 ruling leaving the law in place. A couple of justices were even upset with the decision that they pointed out how there will be many more lawsuits coming out of this on the state level that may not be so favorable to the conservatives.

Ever since the law went into effect there have been a number of protests pop up. The majority of these protests are led by the my body my choice people of the country. These are also the same folks demanding that everyone wears a mask and gets vaccinated over the Covid Plandemic. It's kind of hard to take these folks serious when they only want to support my body my choice when things align with the agenda they are pushing.

This will be interesting to see what happens over the next few months. Even through the next year since Greg Abbott will be up for election in, 2022. There are also a number of other Texas lawmakers that will see their seats come up for grabs. Before making crazy laws like this these folks need to realize this law can be overturned as soon as the government is fliiped. If the Texas government was to get flipped that is.
