The Signing Frenzy Continues in NFL as 2024 Season Approaches

This week marks the official start of the 2024 NFL season. Wednesday, March 13 will be the first day teams can officially sign players for the new year.

Kirk Cousins

The Atlanta Falcons have now found their quarterback of the future. Or at least immediate future. I mean let's keep it real, Cousins is no spring chicken anymore. The guy was drafted the same year that the four letter network made a big deal out of Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III as the top guys. Cousins is the one that has out lasted both even though they were the top two picks of their draft.

Now all these seasons later the Falcons seem to think Cousins is the answer to the woes and gave the veteran a four year $180 million deal. Lets see if he can lead the Falcons to a playoff win. Cousins has been solid over the years.

Saquan Barkley

The Philadelphia Eagles have now added a premier running back to their already explosive offsense by adding Barkley to their backfield. That's all I have to say cause, fuck the Eagles.

Russell Wilson

Wilson has made out like a bandit since the Denver Broncos traded the house for him a few years ago. Now the Broncos are paying Wilson to play for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Talk about Herschel Walker 2.0 with this one.

Wilson could be a huge plus for a Steelers offense that is in need of a solid quarterback. Last season it was a musical chair position for the Steelers. Could be that way again this season but at least they have a veteran in the locker room that has a proven track record when he has a good coach and offensive line in front of him. Wait, do the Steelers have a line?

Baker Mayfield

Mayfield has been able to revamp his career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Last season Mayfield led the team to a 32-9 playoff win over the Philadelphia Eagles before losing to the Lions the next week.

At one time it looked like Mayfield was done for after leaving the Cleveland Browns following the 2021 season. After making stops with the Panthers and LA Rams, Mayfield has a new $100+ million contract and a chance to take the Buccaneers deeper in the playoffs than they went last season.

Jerry Juedy

Juedy has escaped the Mile High City and now back playing at an elevation he is used to playing in Cleveland. The Browns keep making killer deals on receivers. First it was Amari Cooper and now they have Juedy. If only this team had a quarterback they could depend on.

Josh Jacobs

Jacobs finally escaped the Raiders grasps. Now after wasting his first few years Jacobs is finally playing for a contender. The Packers are a perfect team for Jacobs. The Peckers like to run the ball to take the pressure off Jordan Love and Jacobs loves to tote the rock as much as possible.

Jacoby Brissett

Brissett started his career as a rookie with the Patriots when he played in three games in 2016 after being selected in the third round of the draft. Since he has spent four seasons with the Colts; then one each with the Dolphins, Browns and Redskins.

Since the Patriots are paying Brissett around $8 million he is the clear replacement for Mac Jones heading into camp. The Patriots could draft one of the four letter network favorite rookies this season. Brissett is a solid player for a youngster to ride the bench behind to learn.

Mac Jones

Jones had the world in the palm of his hands with the Patriots but never was able to break through to become the next Tom Brady he was drafted to be. Jones now has a place on a Jaguars team that is competing for the AFC South title. He will add the pressure to perform on current Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence.

Austin Eckler

Eckler is finally out of LA after spending the last seven seasons with the Chargers. Things didn't get any better for him though signing with the Redskins. That team is worse off than the Chargers have been.

Mike Evans

Evans has had over 1,000 yards in each of his ten seasons he has suited up for the Buccaneers. After exploring a few options Evanss signed a two-year deal for a little over $50 million. The Buccaneers also signed quarterback Baker Mayfield to a nice deal so Evans won't have to worry or deal with somebody new throwing him the ball this coming season.

Derrick Henry

Henry has spent his entire career with a Titans organization that has continued to go nowhere. Now finally Henry has a home with the Ravens that has potential of making a Super Bowl. Thing is, quarterback Lamar Jackson has no clutch to him. Maybe Henry will be the offensive weapon the Ravens need to break on through.
