Williams the Wrong Choice for Bears or Any Team in the 2024 NFL Draft, No QBs should Go in Top Five

Here we are with the 2024 NFL season starting to get underway. This past weekend this year's future stars went through the combine. Some of the guys impressed slightly, some of the guys showed out putting up crazy stats with their workouts and some of the guys showed their skills on the field making one handed catches. Then there were some of the guys that didn't do shit at all.

This years big focus position seems to be at quarterback. Granted there are a lot of solid guys in this group of future rookies but do any of them have the skills or even the raw ability to lead the team that spends a top pick on them into the future? Not really, but there's always going to be a team that thinks the future is now with the players they pick and take the guy the four letter network is pushing the hardest.

This year that guy is former USC quarterback Caleb Williams.

Is Williams a good quarterback? Of course he is or he wouldn't be where he is now.

Is he an NFL quarterback? Williams could be a solid player with the right coach.

Williams has already proven that he's not really about following "protocol" when it comes to the way of the NFL. He made more news at the combine for what he refused to do instead of what he did. Those are the bigest red flags a person can bring on themself when trying to get a job.

Williams and his dad seem to think this father son duo is gawds gift to football or something. Sorry bruh, but not in any league. Not even the XFL or whatever The Rock is calling that league now.

Let's be honest, Williams is mediocre at best. He can put up solid numbers but he doesn't have that clutch or winning factor in him. Maybe in a perfect situation Williams will be a star at the next level but that's not where this guy will end up. There's a reason why it's pretty much the same teams in the top ten to fifteen every year. Williams is going to end up on a team that will end up moving him to another team when his contract expires if not before.

Just looking at the top five teams. They should all either draft offensive linemen or trade down in the draft where those linemen will come off the board later and stack picks.

First Pick - The Chicago Bears do not really need a quarterback. They could use a line to protect Justin Fields or whoever they put back there to take snaps though. They could use a couple big bodies to open holes for running backs. The Bears need linemen more than anything.

The Bears also have the ninth overall pick so they could do a lot of damage in this draft or even in a future draft if they decide to move out of that top overall spot.

Second Pick - The Washington Redskins are just like Da Bears. They need a line to protect whoever they put on the field to run their offense. The Redskins also need a pass rusher since they lost Chase Young last season. The Redskins can get a good free agent veteran to come in and run the offense or just stick with Sam Howell. He's really not that bad when he has time to throw the damn ball.

Third Pick - The New England Patriots are a team that could use a quarterback over linemen. The Patriots also need a number of parts to get back to their glory days. This is a team that will only get worse next year and move up in the draft with the coaching staff they have in place.

Fourth Pick - The Arizona Cardinals have Kyler Murray and finished the season looking pretty good once he returned from injury. This is a team that could use linemen, a tightend, some pass rush on defense. The Cardinals are a team that could benefit by moving back in the draft so they can build an offensive line that will protect Murray better.

Pick Five - The LA Chargers are on the board and they clearly do not need a quarterback with JUstin Herbert running things. The Chargers are a team that will always finish where they do season after season. It doesn't matter who the Chargers take, they will be right back here next season trying to figure things out again.

Pick Six - The New York Giants need everything. They could use a quarterback but at the same time they are going to need a running back, linemen, wide receivers, an entire team really. It doesn't matter who the Giants take in the draft. They are a team that will be right back here next year.

Williams isn't the only top quarterback in this years draft. Michigan is also seeing their National Championship winning quarterback enter the draft. LSU is putting Jayden Daniels in the draft. Washington is even see Michael Penix Jr move on to the next level.

There's a number of quarterbacks that could potentially lead a team to a Super Bowl. But none of them are worth spending a top five or even a top ten pick on.
